It's ok, you have to start somewhere. :P Well what method did you use? I use the pen tool in Photoshop because I think it's best for getting curves and you can feather the edges. If you want any further help, feel free to ask because I'd be happy to help.

Nice work with the extraction, it's perfect now! Did you make that background from scratch? If so, how did you make that watery effect like that? It looks really cool. I don't know that much about Photoshop yet other than vectoring....
